Wing shooting guide
Rio Piedra Plantation is a luxury hunting lodge located in heart of the South Georgia plantation belt, a long-time winter destination for outdoor and quail hunting enthusiasts. As a 3-time Orvis® Endorsed Lodge of the Year Award recipient, Rio Piedra has become world renowned in the sporting community for exceptional quail hunting, well-appointed accommodations and relaxed 5-star dining. We are currently seeking wingshooting guides that share our passion for hunting and strive to provide guests with an authentic hunting experience.
This is a seasonal position. The position typically starts late October (or sooner) and runs through mid to late-March.
Job responsibilities:
Responsible for conducting guided quail hunts with 2 guest per outing
Manage dogs to successfully find quail and ensure guests are positioned well for a safe shooting experience
Possess strong communication skills and confidently instruct guests in safe gun handling protocols
Keep hunt vehicles clean and maintained to high standards
Assist in caring for dogs and kennels
Continuously demonstrate commitment to genuine hospitality by providing warm, caring service
Ensure guest have a safe and enjoyable quail hunting experience
Collaboratively seeks ways to improve the guest experience and works with team members to incorporate service enhancements
Repair and maintain all hunting equipment
Qualifications and desired skills:
Possess a passion for upland wingshooting and a desire to provide intimate knowledge of the surrounding area, flora, fauna, natural history.
Exceptional interpersonal skills:
o Outgoing and genuine desire to create a personal connection with guests
o Ability to recognize when guests may want more or less interaction
Genuine desire to understand and anticipate guests needs and wants
1+ years as a wing shooting guide
Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record and able to drive manual transmission jeeps
· Must have a valid Georgia hunting license

Compensation: Varies based on experience but typically starts at $130 per day plus tip. Minimum recommended gratuity starts at $150 per day. Opportunity for increased daily compensation based on performance and guest feedback.
