Position Title: Land Management Technician

Duration: Permanent, full-time employment 40 hrs./week.

Compensation: Hourly wage starting at $17.50/hr. (rate to increase based on experience) plus full benefits package with opportunities for advancement.

Blooming Grove Hunting & Fishing Club is a unique 19,500 acre, 153 year old hunting and fishing club in Pike County, PA with active forest management and wildlife management programs in support of member recreational hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities. The Land Management Technician will work directly with and report directly to the Land Management Foreman. The selected applicant will have varied duties across the operation with core responsibilities to create, maintain and monitor habitat plantings for pheasants, grouse, deer and various other game species. Other duties may include, but are not limited to, boundary line maintenance, light carpentry, habitat work, trail maintenance, fruit tree maintenance, game bird maintenance, and forestry activities as noted below along with providing guide services for fly fishing and various hunting activities on the property. The position will include participation in forest management activities, timber marking, forest inventory, ArcGIS data management and prescribed burning.

Applicants should be in good physical condition, able to work outside in a variety of conditions and willing to work long hours and some weekends. A familiarity with safe operation of light and heavy farm equipment, chainsaws, and other small equipment is preferred. Associates or Bachelor Degree in forestry or other related field is preferred. However, individuals with a working knowledge of wildlife and habitat management will be considered for the position as well. An interest in fly fishing, bird hunting, and big game hunting is also preferred. Successful candidate should be able to work on a team and provide a high level of service to members and their guests in a recreational hunting & fishing setting.
